What disaster 'should' you be preparing for?

Whether or not you believe in climate change, you can't deny that disasters are happening more often, and causing more damage and destruction than ever before.
The time for first responders to reach you may be days or weeks depending on the scale of the disaster.
You will be without power for an extended period of time in most cases.
The costs to recover from a disaster are spiraling out of control. You may not qualify for government assistance. Insurance may not cover your losses.

By preparing in advance you can reduce the impact to you and your family when (not if) disaster strikes.

Tornadoes

While mostly contained to 'tornado alley', this area is shifting in size and coverage across America's mid-section. What will you do or where will you go if you are hit with one?

Wildfires

These are becoming more frequent, widespread and destructive, especially in the western US and Canada. Climate-change is causing higher temperatures year-round as well as more frequent drought conditions making wildfires more common. Are you ready for one?

Hurricanes

Just look at the number and intensity of hurricanes over the past 5-10 years. They are larger, more frequent and intensifying so fast due to the ocean temperatures being so much warmer over the past decade. How will you survive?

Flooding / Flash Floods

We are seeing more and more storms cause flash flooding or regional flooding. Storm surge from hurricanes is also becoming increasingly common.

What is your plan to survive if caught in one?

Earthquakes / Landslides

You never know when one will strike. Best to be prepared with an emergency kit and go-bag because you will only have minutes or seconds to react.

Is your's ready?

Global Pandemic

COVID-19 should have been a wake-up call, but instead it got politicized. Viruses don't care what you believe, they are equal opportunity and will infect and sicken or kill any host they can.

The 'bird-flu' virus is currently running rampant in cows, chickens, and wild birds across the US. It has made the leap to humans with 66 cases and 1 fatality in the US in 2024. If this continues to mutate and spread in humans, COVID-19 will look like a mild allergy in comparison.
